Heritage Custom Homes in Ocala began with the vision of one man: Domenic Martelli.

Domenic already owned Williamsberg Associates in New Jersey. In fact, the New Jersey location has built over 8,000 homes. Domenic fell in love with Ocala's rolling horse pastures and lush woodlands, and he moved to Marion County in 1985.

Once here, Domenic expanded his business to create Heritage Custom Homes, bringing fine homebuilding in the Sunshine State to a new level. He began by creating Hidden Lake, a residential community with a difference.

"I could have built a trillion houses on tiny plots," Domenic says. "But I didn't want our residents to have lawns the size of a handkerchief or to live in a community made entirely of concrete.
I wanted our residents to have yards to romp in and trees to shelter them. To know the pleasure of a winding road and elegant homes to line it."

Domenic's commitment to building stylish, functional homes is shared by everyone else here at Heritage Homes.

"I build houses because I love doing it," says Leo Martelli, the company's current vice president and Domenic's son. "This is what I've always wanted to do. I love making people's dreams come true."

To date, Heritage Custom Homes has built 300 homes in Marion County and the surrounding areas. Three more premier developments are being planned over the next five years.
